Teller - Sidney Federal Savings & Loan

Wage: $17.50/hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Teller’s primary responsibility is customer service. This position must be knowledgeable about a range of bank operations and be able to answer any questions a customer may have.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handle deposits, withdrawals, transfers and other transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Open new accounts, manage existing accounts and provide information on various banking products and services.
  • Address and resolve customer issues promptly.
  • Recording transactions, which involves logging checks and preparing transaction reports.
  • Counting and packaging currency.
  • Reconciling cash drawers.
  • Opening new accounts and helping with loan applications.
  • Exchanging foreign currency.
  • Promoting the bank’s products and services, such as checking and savings accounts, loans, certificates of deposit (CDs) and credit cards.
  • Other duties and strategic initiatives as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Degree or GED.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Reasoning Skills – Ability to define issues, collect information, establish facts to analyze/interpret abstract and concrete variables. Ability to draw valid conclusions utilizing sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Language Skills – Ability to read and write.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Annual compliance and work-related training.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequently must stand, walk, reach with hands/arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Rarely must crawl, bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally must sit, use hands to finger/handle/feel, talk and hear.
  • Close and distance vision is required.
  • Minimal travel required. May require valid driver's license.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Normally works in an environment with moderate noise.
  • Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Rarely works near moving mechanical parts, works in high/precarious places, and rarely incurs the risk of electrical shock.
